Our Mill
The Archive
Robert Noble’s rich heritage doesn’t just make for a good read. It has practical advantages for our customers too. Fabric designs and qualities made by our mill from the early 1800s onwards are held in an archive, providing an invaluable source of inspiration for designers.
Housed in a specially designed room using one of the many original stone outbuildings within our mill grounds, The Archive is a virtual time capsule of patterns and playthings for designers. A living breathing textile history for enthusing and inspiring.
Entire days can readily be spent turning through the pages of our oversized leather-bound archive books. Each dated volume contains hundreds of samples of cloth made by our mill and together the books provide a detailed history of Robert Noble textiles.
Our archive is often the ideal place to embark upon a creative collaboration with our design team. Together you can research what’s gone before to arrive at a modern interpretation of a classic design.
